2023 News and Events
In our formative year, we organized as an official Florida non-profit corporation in January, 2023 and received our 501c3 status from the IRS in April, 2023.

Beginning our community outreach, several FRD speakers have appeared on radio, TV and spoke to local civic organizations during the year. Why not invite us to speak to your organization?

FRD also presented a lively half day seminar to a packed room in November at the Osher Institute of Lifelong Learning at Ringling College in Sarasota. We’ve been invited back in 2024. Watch for us!.

2024 Priorities

We’re focusing on educating citizens in this important election year and showing them where to find objective, accurate and useful information about issues and candidates.

We’re also letting people know how to protect our democracy through smart citizenship.

We’re going to launch programs on how government and democracy affect your personal finances.

Virginia and Jeff Orenstein will be offering a mini-course on Your Money and Your Vote at the Osher Institute of Lifelong Learning at The Ringling College Museum Campus in Sarasota on June 7.
